Several FAST swimmers place first at West Regional meet

Frankfort Area Swim Team (FAST) participated in the Kentucky State B Championship West Swim Meet held in Owensboro March 2-4.The meet was hosted by the Owensboro Marlins and featured teams from across the state with qualifying times in boys and girls age groups nine and up.
FAST swimmers took first place in several events. Zach Burnett took first place in male 15-and-over 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:53.83.
Mackenzie Harbin took first place in female age 15-and-over in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:24.96 and in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 12:16.93.Madison Harbin was first in the female age 13-14 100 freestyle with a time of 59.00 seconds and in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:56.32.
Anna Hawkins took first place in the female 11-12 200 IM with a time of 2:39.26.
Burnett, Mackenzie and Madison Harbin, and Hawkins are qualified to compete in the State Championship "A" meet March 16-18 in Lexington.
FAST also participated in the 8 and under state championship swim meet Feb. 25 in Shelbyville at the Clear Creek Family Activities Center, hosted by The Shelby Sharks swim team.
Twenty-five teams participated from across the state, including Murray, Elizabethtown, Bowling Green and Paducah.
Alexandra Silvernail (8) represented FAST in three events the girls 7-8 50-yard backstroke, 50-yard breaststroke and 50-yard freestyle.
