FHS notes: The Panthers closed out the district portion of their schedule undefeated last week against Eminence, guaranteeing them home-field advanntage through the first two rounds of the playoffs. E.J. Fields and Quan Weaver, to important pieces to the Panthers' offense, were injured during last week's game. Fields' injured ankle is still questionable while Weaver's neck injury shouldn't keep him out of the lineup Friday. Frankfort defeated Danville 35-13 during the regular season last year. The Admirals got the last laugh though, winning big in the second round of the Class A playoffs, 35-6.

A look at Danville

Points scored: 283 Points allowed: 125
Notes: The Admirals are very balanced offensively with 1806 yards rushing along with 1246 yards passings as a team this season. Quarterback Trae Grey has passed for 1164 yards this season on 53 completions and has 16 touchdown passes. His favorite targets are Derrick Henderson and Leonard Macon. Henderson has 15 catches for 452 yards and four touchdowns while Macon also has 15 catches for 319 yards and six touchdowns. The Admirals' leading rusher is Antwoine Simon with 676 yards on 107 carries and has eight touchdowns. Right behind him is Tyrell Johnson with 383 yards on 59 carries and five touchdowns.

East Jessamine vs. No. 6 Franklin Co.

Last week: Franklin Co. defeated Harrison Co. 38-6; East Jessamine lost to Boyle Co. 41-7
FCHS notes: After a big win over district foe Harrison County, the Flyers moved up one spot in the Class 4A rankings to No. 6. FCHS quarterback Sean Thompson is approaching 2,500 yards passing this season. Thompson has thrown for 2,231 yards with 23 touchdown passes. He's completed 61 percent of his passes (183-for-299), and he's the team's leading rusher with 596 yards. Terry Metcalf had a huge game last week with two rushing touchdowns and one touchdown reception. He has rushed for 482 yards and eight touchdowns this season.

A look at East Jessamine

Last year's record: 8-3 (lost 41-13 to Franklin County in the first round of the Class 3A state playoffs).
Key players: Derrick Green, Quincy Richards, Matt Whitley, Damion Napier
Points scored: 149 Points allowed: 178
Notes: The Jaguars are a running team, having amassed 2,059 yards rushing to just 311 yards passing. Derrick Green leads East Jessamine with 589 yards rushing and five touchdowns, Quincy Richards has rushed for 550 yards and four touchdowns, and Matt Whitley has rushed for 462 yards with two touchdowns. Damion Napier has two fumble recoveries, one going for a touchdown.

Western Hills vs. No. 7 Lafayette

Records: Western Hills (1-7, 0-3), Lafayette (7-1, 3-0).
Last week: Western Hills lost to North Oldham 36-6; Lafayette defeated Dunbar 16-14
WHHS notes: The Wolverines closed out their regular-season disrict with a tough 36-6 loss to North Oldham last week. They will automatically qualify for the playoffs since there are only four teams in the district. WHHS will host No. 7 Anderson County Nov. 2 in their final regular-season game.

A look at Lafayette

Last year's record: 10-1 (lost 43-22 to Woodford Co. in first round of the Class 4A state playoffs).
Key players: Darnell Burnside, Logan Bunch, Eric Shaw
Points scored: 191 Points allowed: 111
Notes: The Generals are having yet another great season. With their only loss coming against No. 5 Henry Clay, the Generals will be a lot to handle for the struggling Wolverines. Darnell Burnside leads Lafayette in rushing with 422 yards and nine touchdowns. The Generals prefer to air things with the arm of quarterback Logan Bunch. Bunch has passed for 1580 yards this season with 124 completions on 201 attempts. Eric Shaw is the leading receiver with 24 catches for 208 yards and three touchdowns.
