Frankfort Police
>Kellie Goins, district manager of Verizon Wireless, told police Wednesday a male suspect stole two Motorola blue tooth headsets, valued at $100 each, from the Verizon store at 514 West Main St.
>Leonard Wilson, manager of the Kentucky Fried Chicken at 1229 Lawrenceburg Road, told police Monday all of the cash in the store's safe was missing when he unlocked it to fill up the cash drawer. He suspects an assistant manager with access to the safe committed the theft.
Frankfort Fire and EMS
Frankfort Fire and Emergency Medical Service responded to 127 calls from Feb. 29 " March 6.
Of those, 90 were ambulance runs with 65 patients transported to Frankfort Regional Medical Center for additional treatment.
The non-emergency transport medical ambulance aided 14 citizens with trips to various nursing homes, clinics, assisted living and out of town facilities.
City of Frankfort Fire and EMS apparatus responded to 14 fire calls and two vehicle accidents.
Clarification
A story regarding a new smoking policy for local school districts in Friday's State Journal incorrectly identified schools who would be affected by the new policy.
Brandon Hurley, Franklin County Health Department Tobacco Use and Prevention Coordinator, is encouraging all Franklin County and Frankfort Independent schools to adopt a campus smoking ban. Also, Frankfort Independent Schools do not have a policy in place banning smoking on all district property.
