New director named to Authority

John E. Covington III of Frankfort has been appointed as the new executive director for the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority.

Covington has worked for the KIA for 16 years as a financial analyst and treasurer. He has a total of 23 years combined service working in Kentucky state government with a bachelor of arts in government and history from Centre College and a bachelor of science in accounting from Western Kentucky University.

"I look forward to working with the Beshear administration in continuing the Authority's mission to improve the quality of life for Kentuckians through safe drinking water and wastewater treatment," Covington said.

The KIA was created in 1988 to provide the mechanism for funding construction of local public works projects.

How do you know what people have donated?

I won't get over it. Your past reflects how you operate in the future.

Quoting you ..."I don't know if you have noticed in the past few years the infastructure of the whole country has shown signs of weakning."

You shoot your own argument down. Why promote someone from within the agency when that agency allowed our local sewage infrastructure get in such disrepair.

Answerman get over it. The only problem with this hire is Covington should have gotten the head director position.

Its not about how much money you donate. Its who is the best qualified for the job.

I don't know if you have noticed in the past few years the infastructure of the whole country has shown signs of weakning.

The KIA has been run by idiots for awhile now. It is refreshing to see someone with competence, education and experience get the job.

Alot needs to be done in this state we all need to come together.

I'd hire this guy too!. He's got the degrees and education, he has the on-hand experience. There's just one little sanitary problem.

Most of the package treatment plants in this guys back yard (Franklin County) are in poor and unsanitary operating condition. The County (taxpayers) have to take them over to be run properly.

Beshear continues to hire incompetents who have not completed anything to make Kentucky better. This guy is a great example.

If I was him I wouldn't brag about my degrees and 23 years of combined experience with the shape my hometown sewage treatment facilities are managed.

PS..
He donated a whopping $125 to Beshear for Governor. I keep hearing from people who held fundraisers, donated or raised thousands of dollars and can't get a return phone call.

Reminds me of how Fletcher treated his campaign workers.
