An employee of Frankfort's now-closed Home Depot was indicted Wednesday for stealing money and merchandise from the failing local operation of one of the nation's top retailers. Woodrow Jones, 252 Meadowview Drive, Apt. 2, was charged with theft by unlawful taking, a Class D felony. The indictment said the thefts occurred in May and June of this year as the store began slashing prices to clear leftover merchandise before shutting its doors. Commonwealth's Attorney Larry Cleveland said Jones told police "I'm not sure when this began or how much I've stolen." James T. Tingle, 43, 175 Travis Circle, was indicted for cultivating marijuana after police discovered a drug operation running out of Tingle's garage, Cleveland said. Cleveland said Tingle had rigged an elaborate method of growing the plants, including ventilation and sun lamps. Tingle, who has prior convictions, also faces charges for possession of a firearm by a felon after police discovered several rifles at Tingle's residence, Cleveland said. Tingle was also indicted for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, both Class A misdemeanors. Cleveland said Tingle was fully cooperating with police. Others indicted Wednesday by a Franklin County grand jury include: >Richard D. Carroll, 45, Burgin, Ky., possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cocaine. >Chester Wayne Terrell, 45, 311 West Second St., possession of a controlled substance, criminal littering, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence and being a persistent felony offender. >William David Johnson, 46, of Lexington, possession of a controlled substance.
