Kentucky Lt. Gov. Daniel Mongiardo poses with his bride Allison Patrick during their wedding in Covington, Ky. on Saturday. COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky Lt. Gov. Daniel Mongiardo has married fiancee Allison Patrick in a private ceremony Saturday.
The wedding was held at Saint Mary's Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington, said Chief of Staff Jeff Derouren.
"Allison is truly one of the most remarkable women I have ever met, and I am blessed to now have her as my wife," the Democratic lieutenant governor said in a prepared statement. "I know she will prove to be a wonderful asset as together we work hand-in-hand with all Kentuckians to move our state forward."
The couple had been tightlipped in advance of the wedding, announcing earlier this month only that they were getting married at a church somewhere in Kentucky.
The two met while Mongiardo was a state senator and Patrick was a volunteer for state Sen. Alice Forgy Kerr. They announced their engagement last year during Mongiardo's run for lieutenant governor.
The Mongiardo, now 47, and Patrick, now 22, dated for three years before announcing their engagement. It is the first marriage for both.
"We couldn't be happier to start our new life together and are blessed to have our families share in our special day," the bride said in statement.
Mongiardo, a Democrat, was elected in November on the ticket of Gov. Steve Beshear. An ear, nose and throat physician from Hazard, Mongiardo has won two state Senate elections and lost a close U.S. Senate race to Jim Bunning in 2004.

actually...
her fling with 55 yr old (we'll leave his name anonymous), ended when the administration put Anonymous Teacher in the hot seat and informed her parents as to what was going on. She didnt start dating Danny Boy until a year and a half after we graduated. But I can confidently say that I know her better than the rest of you guys. I spent a lot of time with her and she definately through the vibes out there to the teacher. Not to let him off the hook, a man of his age should know better, but he wasnt preying on her. All I know is that Dr Dan better keep her on a short leash if he wants to make his marriage last. Shes a very likable girl and in a couple of years when Dr Dan is on social security she's going to find guys her age more appealing. Heck, maybe she'll find herself a high school guy for HER midlife crisis.

To dangel071956: Yes, she began dating one of her teachers, who was around 55 years old, when she was 16 or 17 years old. She basically broke it off with the teacher when she met Dan when she was 19 years old. To others who say age doesn't matter, it really doesn't except if the younger is practically a kid upon entering the relationship.

Did we forget that Dr. Henry is several years older than Heather? Oh my God!! We should burn him at the stake, also.

whoshotmandy, you have my apologies as I mis-targeted. I became a bit annoyed with one particular post and, apparently, misidentified the user. I shall govern my emotions (temper) in the future.

Was she involved with a school teacher when she attended High School. I have followed the comments but alot seems to be missing. As for the age difference, it does matter and will in the future after she matures to her "30's". She will change. I have not heard that he is gay before the postings here but if he is he will be a lifetime friend of her divorce or not. If she is looking for a daddy figure to be pampered or controled then maybe she will be happy for awhile.

He is gay and if those who know her and have written in here are right about her, then perhaps she knows it, did pursue him and is advancing herself by giving him plausable deniability. What better way to deflect accusations of homosexuality than to brand yourself a lecherous guy chasing an extremely younger woman? Frankly pretty sharp on her part if that is the case and she is a likeable girl. Steve Henry can't get elected to anything, but both parties would love to get Heather on the ballot for themselves because she would be a shoo-in!

To Robert F. - Yes, I have several diploma's but what does that have to do with this story and this blog. If you have to personally attack someone maybe this blogging stuff is not for you.
