A motorcyclist is in critical condition after being injured in a collision Saturday afternoon on U.S. 127 in West Frankfort, a hospital spokesperson says.
Belinda Moore, 45, and Robert Moore, 48, both of Frankfort, were riding a Harley-Davidson Sportster motorcycle north-bound on U.S. 127 at Limestone. They collided with a white 2002 Toyota Highlander SUV at approximately 6 p.m., according to police.
Robert Moore was listed as being in fair condition Monday morning and Belinda Moore was in critical condition, according to the spokesperson at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
The SUV was heading south on 127 and driven by Amy Lee, 26, of Frankfort, with three children as passengers police said. No one in the SUV was injured.
The Moores were transported to Frankfort Regional Medical Center before being airlifted to UK.

there's a turn arrow there, the SUV does not have the right-of-way unless that arrow is illuminated, which in this case it seems it wasn't. No one said that this was head trauma, so stop with the helmet crap. People just dont pay enough attention, theyre in such a hurry that they dont even notice the loud pipes and huge headlight on the front of a Harley. Guys, be careful out there, with gas prices the way they are, bikes are everywhere, keep your eyes open and drive with some sense. My prayers to both parties involved.

This was my brother and his wife and while they should have been wearing helments fact of the matter is they were not that can not be changed. None of you have close to any idea what our family is going through or facing, but need to keep in mind it was "THEM" who are the victims here. It was "THEM" who were side swiped outta of the blue. While they done nothing wrong they are being made out to be the bad guys and the ones in the wrong while truth is they done nothing but now are left to fight for survival so keep that in mind while defending anyone OR pointing figers at who is to truely blamed.

TheShane, I don't think Clarence was concerned with who caused the accident but rather with the fact that their injuries most likely may have been less severe, if they would have worn helmets and proper gear. Although there is no helmet law here in KY, it's just common sense that one should be worn. Unfortunately, too many don't.

I agree Krissy. I was not there, but I know the driver of the SUV. If you weren't there then don't try and add to the story. You tell the one poster to not post accusations, then I would suggest you do the same and follow your own advice!

I would just like to say that this situation is terrible. For both parties. I feel for the family. However I know the lady driving the SUV and I was at the scene of the wreck. She is very devastated sbout the accident as well as the children with her. I listen to the witnesses and the pilice. Her light was not red, anyone who has been to that light knows that both lights would have been green at the same time. It is a terrible situation and pointing fingers doesn't help either side. And then making accusations that are false doesn't help either victims. Fault in the wreck has not been determined and TheShane you should stop saying things that aren't fact. Both the police and witnesses agree on the story so your hear should be kept to yourself and researched!

Clarence, what gives you the right? I happen to know the couple involved and know that their families are still dealing with this tragedy. Before (if) they are sent home from the hospital, you are already busy with the finger wagging. So I say, who are you that you make assumptions? Does it matter that the other vehicle involved ran the red light which caused the incident? Of course not. Not to you. Why let the facts get in the way of a good post...

clarence...no, they weren't wearing helmets. From the time it took us to get from the intersection at Wal-mart up 127 and around the bend by Shoney's, they had already wrecked, and they were next to us at the light at Wal-mart, so to say they were going fast is an understatement. Still, I hope they recover.
