The Franklin County Public School Board voted unanimously to rescind the $0.047 cent tax levy subject to recall at its meeting Monday night because of the high probability that the rate would be rejected by voters and the additional costs the district would incur by funding a special election.

See Tuesday's State Journal for more information.

Less educational options, more job loss. Just check the State Journal articles on all the factories closing here lately. Why did they leave? Inability to find quality workers was the main reason the companies stated.

You get what you pay for Frankfort.

WHAT!? They don't think the voting public would vote themselves a tax increase? We probably wouldn't do it period, much less in this economy and during a recession?

So now, at the next meeting, they approve the 4% increase. So much time is / was wasted already and whichever Board Member or Whoever came up with the original 5% idea and that person(s) that pushed it into action, should be spanked. Then again, that person will probably be Mayor in a few years.

This is the way democracy should work. Now if only the U.S. Congress would take note....
