The Lexington man arrested in connection to an October robbery attempt at Fifth Third Bank in Frankfort has been indicted on first-degree robbery charges.

Elijah Daniel Gable, 25, of Lexington, had been indicted Nov. 5 in a sealed document and was arrested Friday. Prosecutors released information on his charges Wednesday.

Gable allegedly entered the Lawrenceburg Road bank Oct. 7 wearing a blond wig and sunglasses and demanded money.

Bank officials told The State Journal at the time of the incident Gable didn't get any cash.

But police found the wig and sunglasses in a nearby dumpster and linked fingerprints on the glasses to Gable, Commonwealth's Attorney Larry Cleveland said.

According to Cleveland, detectives went to his apartment to take him in for questioning. Gable denied involvement in the attempted robbery and told officers it was a case of mistaken identity, Cleveland said.

He then asked if he was free to go and officers told him he was going to be taken to jail, Cleveland said.

Cleveland said Gable asked, "What for?"

Detectives told Gable they had a warrant for his arrest and he was charged with armed robbery, to which he replied "I didn't have a gun," according to Cleveland.

In subsequent questioning, Gable admitted the offense, Cleveland said.
Gable is formally charged with first-degree robbery, a Class B felony that could land him 20 years in jail if convicted.

The Franklin County grand jury also indicted a Frankfort man on sex charges after he allegedly had sex with two 15-year-old girls.

Darrell Wayne King, 28, 924 Holmes St., is charged with two counts of having an unlawful transaction with a minor. Cleveland said King, who lives next door to one of the girls, was also having a relationship with the girl's mother.

At a gathering at the mother and daughter's house, King and the mother were kissing, which made the young girl jealous, Cleveland said.

According to Cleveland, the girl left after threatening to harm herself and later went to King's house to have sex with him along with another under-aged girl to get back at her mother.

Cleveland said King admitted the offenses to police and said he knew they were each 15, but didn't see it as a problem because it was "consensual."
King's charge is a Class B felony.

Other indictments returned by the grand jury include:

>Cathryn Taylor, 31, 420 Briarpatch Lane, giving a false statement or misrepresentation to obtain benefits over $100.
>Denise E. Brown, 24, 502 McCreary Ave., possession of marijuana and receiving stolen property over $300.
>Christopher Hellard, 29, 502 McCreary Ave., receiving stolen property over $300, tampering with physical evidence and persistent felony offenses.
>James E. Whitehouse, age not known, of Spencer County, theft by unlawful taking over $300, fraudulent use of a credit card and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
