A Frankfort man was indicted Wednesday on sex charges after allegedly abusing a young girl he was babysitting.
Shawn Reffett, 29, 5134 Georgetown Road, is charged with first-degree sexual abuse of a girl under 12, his indictment said.
Reffett, who prosecutors say has no known prior offenses in Kentucky, was babysitting the girl Oct. 3 when he "subjected a female child to sexual contact."
Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Dana Todd told The State Journal Wednesday children in the home immediately reported the alleged offense to their mother, who called police.
Reffett did not physically harm the girl, Todd said. No other indictments were returned by the Franklin County grand jury.

This guy is sick sick sick. Now this poor girl will have to live with this the rest of her life.
Throw the "BIG" book at him. You know...The Bible.

Sadly the girl Shawn was taking care of has a history of being an attention starved and unruly child, where as the article says shawn has no past offenses.

I think anyone found guilty of crimes against children should be punished to the fullest extent of the law! but this paper has tried more people than our court system! Like milkman said(innocent until proven guilty) but in a courtroom and not a newspaper.

Milkman,
If your friend had a job where a lot of driving was required, I could see why they fired him.
On the other hand, like PWB said, it's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty.
But I am curious to know how your friend got out of a DUI. You don't see that very often...

Poorwhiteboy-
I know a guy who was accused of drunk driving and was later found to be innocent. The SJ printed his name and address and he was promptly fired from his job. You have a good point

innocent until proven guilty folks. that is yours, mine and his rights as Americans. quick to judge arent we?
if convicted however, deliver his b@(($ to the childs parents as a mantle piece.
if it is a kids joke, then hand down a fitting punishment for them. community service helping those that have really been mistreated?
