Treasure Hunters Roadshow opens today
Frankfort is one of the stops on a nationwide Treasure Hunters Roadshow, opening today at Best Western Parkside Inn.
The Roadshow is sponsored by the International Collectors Association, which serves as a clearinghouse for collectors throughout the world.
Area residents may bring in old collectibles and have them assessed and purchased. Old coins, jewelry, instruments and toys made prior to 1965 are of particular interest, and gold items will be purchased at current market values.
The Treasure Hunters Roadshow is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

County Schools committee sets hearing
The Franklin County Public Schools Local Planning Committee will conduct a public hearing March 25 at 5:30 p.m. at the Board of Education office, 916 E. Main St.The purpose of the hearing will be to record citizen comments concerning the contents of the District Facilities Plan.
Albert Kinman elected to highway board
Albert Kinman, of Frankfort, vice president of H.G. Mays Corp., was recently elected to the board of directors for the Kentucky Association of Highway contractors.
The KAHC is a trade association representing highway construction contractors and the manufacturers and dealers of construction materials and equipment and firms or individuals engaged in services to or for contractors who are pre-qualified with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to perform construction projects within the state.
Scott Quire selected for stone association
Scott Quire, of Frankfort, Frankfort Testing Lab, was recently selected to serve a two-year term as an associate director for the Kentucky Crushed Stone Association.
The KCSA is based in Frankfort and represents more than 100 crushed stone producers, sand and gravel producers and related manufacturers and service companies statewide.
Good Shepherd School walk planned
A Good Shepherd School IRISH "Run for the Gold" 1.7 mile Fun Run/Walk is set for Tuesday, St. Patrick's Day, in downtown Frankfort.
The race begins at 6:30 p.m. on Wapping Street in front of Good Shepherd School and ends at 7 p.m. on Broadway in front of Jennifer Zingg Art Studio.
Streets closing for the race at 6:15 p.m. include:Wapping, St. Clair, Broadway, Ann, Main, Capital and High.

Kentucky State offers summer youth camp
Kentucky State University will offer the Youth Entrepreneurship Camp June 21-27 for students interested in business. The camp is open to high school students who will be in grades 10 through 12 this fall.
