Music program ends Friday
The public is invited to attend the closing program of “Musical Arts Downtown: A 30-year Celebration” at noon Friday in the Wesley Center at First United Methodist Church, 211 Washington St. The event, sponsored by the downtown churches, attracted nearly 80 children this year with some 25 adults providing leadership throughout the week.
Get to know Korean culture
About 20 Korean representatives from Youngsan University arrived on Kentucky State University’s campus Wednesday to spend a month learning how to improve the English instruction in their classrooms and soaking up American culture.
In order to give them the true American experience, the KSU Office of Asian Affairs is calling on local families and individuals to host one or two of the visitors for a meal, to allow a few of the visitors to accompany them on a shopping trip or simply to spend some time talking with them in the evenings.
The South Korean visitors will be staying on campus and traveling on the weekends to New York, Chicago and to various spots throughout Kentucky.
Host families or individuals are needed to entertain the guests for a few hours once or twice from June 30 to July 16.

Immanuel Baptist hosting youth choir
Immanuel Baptist Church, 1075 Collins Lane, is hosting One Voice youth choir and JuBELLation youth handbell ringers from First Baptist Church, Southern Pines, N.C. 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
The two groups will be singing and ringing several selections throughout the worship service.
Everyone is invited.
Agency conducting housing survey
The Blue Grass Community Action Partnership will be conducting a week-long survey to determine the housing needs of individuals/families in Franklin County.
This survey will include the homeless or those who are housed in less than suitable circumstances. For help call (502) 695-5615.
It will not be necessary to give your name but you will be required to answer a few questions about your housing situation.
This survey is needed to document the need for funds to assist individuals/families in a housing crisis. Information is needed by July 6.
