William Earl “Bill” Golden 72, of Frankfort, died Saturday at his home with his family at his side. Mr. Golden was born August 19, 1936 in Montgomery County to the late William Dewey and Mary Lou Hutchison Golden. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Bridgeport, KY. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother. He had been a farmer in Bourbon and Montgomery Counties for many years. He worked as a mechanic where he retired with Ryder Truck Rental. He loved to play Bluegrass and Gospel music with his Dobro. He volunteered his time and music at nursing homes to share his love of music for folks to hear. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Cathorall Golden of Frankfort; two daughters, Pam (Craig) Means of Winchester, and Gayle (Kevin) Thomas of Lexington; one granddaughter, Ashley Means of Winchester; two step-sons, Chris (Patti) Endicott of Pleasureville, and Chuck Endicott of Frankfort; one step-daughter, Johanna (Richard) Owens of Cocoa, Florida; three step-granddaughters, Jessica Wright, Lindsey Owens, Shelby Owens all of Cocoa, Florida, and one step-grandson, Brian Endicott of Arkansas; two sisters, Rachel Blevins and Mary Ruth (Doug) Fletcher and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Hall, all of Mt. Sterling. Survivors also include several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Jean Hall and Deborah Duley, a brother-in-law Walter Blevins, Jr., and a step-granddaughter, Tiffany Watts. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Everett Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Frankfort Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Craig Means, Kevin Thomas, Richard Owens, Chris Endicott, Chuck Endicott, and Ronnie Bledsoe. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 208 Steel St., Frankfort, KY 40601 or Faith Baptist Church, 50 Bridgeport Benson Road, Frankfort, KY 40601.
