Power restored to 800 homes

Power was restored to about 800 customers in South Frankfort by about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday after a tree fell on utility lines at Lafayette Drive.

Russ Colwell, customer service manager, said power was out for about an hour on Capital Avenue, Todd and Murray streets.

Service was restored on Woodland Avenue, Shelby Street, Lafayette Drive and Dogwood Lane in about 90 minutes, Colwell said.

High winds likely caused the tree to fall and some equipment was damaged and had to be replaced, he said.

There will be no city bus service.
