FPB’s Scott Stafford wins video awards Frankfort Plant Board Media Services has received three Telly Awards for commercial video production. Scott Stafford, FPB senior video producer/director, won Silver Telly Awards, the highest rating, for both copywriting and video production of the David Toles Auto Pro commercial titled “Hands.” Stafford also won a Bronze Telly for video production of the Wayne’s Pharmacy commercial titled “Beetles.” Stafford’s three Tellys this year add to the bronze he received in 2006. More than 14,000 from around the world entered the competition. Founded in 1978, the Telly Award is the top honor for local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, film and video productions, and groundbreaking Web commercials, videos and films. A panel of more than 40 industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly, judged the competition. FPB Media Services produces local television commercials and other non-advertising video productions. Farmers Bank earnings fall 50 percent Farmers Capital Bank Corp. announced second-quarter earnings this week that fell 50 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Net income was $2.5 million in the quarter compared to $4.9 million in the second quarter of 2008. Earnings per share were 22 cents in the quarter, down from 67 cents a year ago. The company, which has 37 locations throughout Central and Northern Kentucky, said lower earnings were driven by higher provision for loan losses, increased deposit insurance expense and lower net interest income. LBAR home sales drop Home sales in Franklin County by the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors fell 20 percent since the same time last year. LBAR reported 191 sales for 2009 to date, totaling $24,552,810, compared to 237 sales last year. June sales remained static, with 44 homes sold in both 2008 and 2009. In Franklin County, median sales prices fell 2 percent to $117,871 for the same time last year. Homes are also on the market longer this year than last, with the average time on the market being 120 days, compared to 110 days in 2008.
