Ward E. Young, 81, died Saturday, October 24, 2009. He was born in Flint, Michigan on August 17, 1928 to the late Paul and Twyla Switzer Young. He served with the United States Navy in WWII, was an educator and football coach for the New Haven, Michigan Community Schools, and a member of Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Young of Frankfort; two daughters, Diana (Donald) Mefford of Frankfort and Carol (Tim) Holley of Ohio; four grandsons and four great grandchildren; and his brother, Duane Young of Oklahoma.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2009 at Clark Funeral Home-Versailles Road with Reverend Todd Lester and Reverend John Mack officiating. Visitation is 9-11 a.m. on Friday.
