Opal Abrams Perry, age 88, widow of Orville Lee Perry, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Georgetown Community Hospital.
She was born on Christmas Day, 1920 to the late Dewey and Davie Lathrem Abrams in Owen County, KY. She is survived by her daughter, Jean Graves of Frankfort, KY, sons, Ronald Perry of Lebanon, KY and Lynn (Brenda) Perry of Stamping Ground, KY; granddaughters; Pam Graves, Frankfort and Alisha Perry Cooper, Campbellsville, grandsons; Jamie Graves, Georgetown, Steve Graves, Bagdad, Marty Perry, Versailles, Dale Perry, Frankfort, Ronald Douglas Perry, Lebanon, great-grandsons; Cody Graves, Stamping Ground, Christopher Graves, Georgetown, great-granddaughter; Rachel Graves, Georgetown, great-grandsons, Michael Copper and Malcolm Newton, Campbellsville, step-grandchildren, Melanie (Greg) Lucas, Georgetown, Michael Chowning and Kimber Whyte, Indianapolis, Jennifer (Tim) Hanks, Georgetown, Christopher and Cassady Hilbert, Lexington and seven step great-grandchildren, brothers, Don (Sara) Abrams, David Abrams, both of Frankfort, KY, J.C. (Linda) Abrams of Troy, Ohio and sister, Kathleen Moss of Frankfort, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Joan, and sons, Douglas and Kenneth Perry. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sat., October, 31, 2009 at Masonic Cemetery in Stamping Ground, KY, with nephew, Rev. Alan Abrams Jr. officiating.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jamie and Steve Graves, Marty, Dale and Ronald Douglas Perry, great-grandsons, Cody and Christopher Graves and step-grandson, Tim Hanks. Visitation will be 4 to 8 Friday, October 30, 2009 at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, Virginia, 22312.
