Kentucky State’s football team will try to keep the momentum going as the Thorobreds travel to Fort Valley State for a conference game Saturday.

The Thorobreds are coming off a 21-6 win over Miles College last week.

Three KSU players earned SIAC honors for their performances in the Miles game.

Defensive back Edward Dunaway was named co-newcomer of the week after recording 10 tackles (seven solo) and two sacks for losses of 22 yards.

Shannon Frieson and Tyrell Henderson both earned honorable mention.

The victory over Miles improved K-State’s record to 5-4 overall and 3-4 in the SIAC. Fort Valley State is also 5-4 overall with a 4-3 conference mark.

Saturday’s game kicks off at 1 p.m.
