For those of you with tasks to accomplish where the phases of the moon and signs of the zodiac might be beneficial, here’s the information for the upcoming week.

And before we begin, hasn’t that Harvest Moon been just lovely this week? The clear nights we’ve had have given us quite an opportunity to experience it  “hanging” so close in the sky.

The moon is in the dark phase now since the arrival of that magnificent Harvest Moon on Oct. 28 and will continue there until the next new moon that comes into force at 1:17 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13. Through Thursday then, limit any activities to those that are best done with the dark moon is in force.

Then beginning Friday afternoon and until the next full moon on Nov. 27, 11:55 a.m., only activities best influenced by the force of the light moon.

As for the signs, today is under the influence of Pisces (the feet), one of the four most fertile signs but that changes Monday and Tuesday when the sign moves to Aries (the head), a killing sign. Proceed accordingly.

Fertile days return Wednesday and Thursday when the sign moves to Taurus (the neck), one of the four most fertile signs.

Friday through next Sunday find the sign in Gemini (the arms), the bean and peas sign.

Not much going on in the gardening world right now, but in a couple of months we’ll be fastening our seatbelts for 2010.
