Gary Bevill
Services for Gary W. Bevill, 64, Frankfort will be conducted from Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009. Chaplain Ed Bevill and Dr. David Hinson will officiate. Burial will follow in Frankfort Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Gary died Friday, November 13, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center, Lexington.
A native of Paris, Tennessee, he was born November 6, 1945 to the late Mason L. and Doris Frances Leigh Bevill. As a young child, his family moved to Madisonville, Ky. where he graduated from Madisonville High School. He was a graduate of Western Kentucky University and retired from the Kentucky Cabinet for Health Services. During his tenures at Emergency Medical Services and Maternal and Child Health divisions, he developed the Emergency Services Regulations and also worked for the Immunizations for Children. He was a member of his home church, Earlington Baptist and First Baptist Church, Frankfort.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Bevill; sons, Michael (Kim) Myatt, Nicholasville, Richard (Crystal) Myatt, Frankfort, Keegan Myatt, Frankfort; daughter, Tracy Higginson, Henderson; brothers, Mason (Janice) Bevill, Hawesville, James (Cindi) Bevill, Tacoma, WA, Edmond (Patricia) Bevill, Earlington, KY; sisters, Barbara (Bill) Vaughn, Henderson, Bernice White, Jeffersonville, IN, Paula Cassidy, Valley Station; grandchildren, Logan and Ann-Michael Staples, Henderson, Brooke Higginson, Henderson, Shelby Myatt, Nicholasville; and several nieces and nephews.
Bearers will be Michael Myatt, Logan Staples, Richard Myatt, Robert Jeffries, Mark Jeffries, Rock Cassidy, Jeff White and Joe White. Shane Bevill, Mike Wilson, Emma Harrod, Bill Braden and Gerald Luttrell will serve as honorary bearers.
