Planting by the Signs: Moon in light phase until Wednesday

I feel just a little silly doing this column now with the 2010 planting season almost closer than the 2009 one, but each time I try to stop “for the season” someone(s) calls or writes and reminds me they use this information for more than just planting or for doing indoor things with their plants.

So I’ll press on and here’s the information for this week.

The moon moves to the light phase Monday with the new moon coming into force at 2:14 p.m. and continues until the next full moon on Wednesday, Dec. 2. After today and until the full moon proceed only with activities best influenced by the force of the light moon.

As for the signs, today is at the end of a series of flowering signs with Libra (the reins) in force. Monday through Wednesday find Scorpio (the secrets) ruling followed by a series of so-so signs beginning Thursday and Friday with Sagittarius (the thighs) in force followed by Capricorn (the knees) ruling Nov. 21-23 and concluding with Aquarius (the legs), Nov. 24-25.

Thanksgiving Day and Nov. 27 find the fertile sign Pisces (the feet) in force followed by the mean sign Aries (the head) ruling Nov. 28-29. November ends and December begins (Nov. 30-Dec. 1) with Taurus (the neck), one of the fertile signs, in force.

Just remember that all but today is under the influence of the light moon and the most fertile sign rules Monday through Wednesday this week.

Call (227-4556) or e-mail (pcase@state-journal.com) if you have questions – and be sure to vote in this week’s poll about decorating for Christmas!
