Mary Emma Probus-Douthitt, 82, passed away Thursday morning Nov. 12, 2009 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
Born May 11, 1927 in Breckinridge County, Ky., as the daughter of Wavie Thomas Probus and Iva Opal Basham. She married Celestion “Buck” Douthitt in 1942.
She is preceded in death by brothers William Thomas Probus, Delmar Ray Probus, Lonnie Junior “Red” Probus, Everret Lee Probus (infant), Jonas C. Probus (infant); and sister Anna Ree Probus (infant).
She is survived by one sister, Virginia Ree Hines, Frankfort; two brothers, James Melvin Probus, Louisville and Sydney Gladis Probus, Hardinsburg; three children, Ann Elizabeth Robinson and her husband James of Lawrence, KS, Harry Edwin Douthitt and his wife Shirley of Corydon, IN, and Betty Ray Long and her husband Charles of Frankfort; grandchildren, Zendell Chestine Robinson, Edwin Joe Robinson, Jimmie Ann Robinson, Rebecca Lynn Dunlap, Julie Ann Jones, Stephanie Kay Price, Mary Michelle Alton, Mary Juanita Becker.
Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 16, 2009 at Watson & Hunt in Leitchfield with the burial at Mt. Hebron Cemetery. Charles Long officiated the service.
