Flyers fall to No. 10 J-town

Despite another big scoring night for senior Vance Hall, Franklin County’s boys basketball team fell to host Jeffersontown 75-66 Tuesday.

Jeffersontown jumped out to a 22-13 lead in the first quarter, but the Flyers answered right back to trail by only two at halftime, 35-33.

FCHS kept the offense coming in the third quarter, outscoring J-town 21-18, to take a 54-53 lead into the final period.

The fourth quarter was all J-town as it put up 22 points and held the Flyers to just 12.

Hall poured on 30 points to lead all scorers. Brandon Jennels posted 14 points. Other scorers for FCHS were Michael Samples and Lyndon McKee with six points, Bryce Burton and Eric Meyer with three points each, and Sean Thompson with two.

The Flyers (1-2) travel to Versailles Friday to open up district play against Woodford County. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m.

Capital City Duals set for Saturday

The Flyers will be hosting the Capital City Duals wrestling tournament Saturday at Franklin County High School.  The tournament will have plenty of competition, both in-state and out, with 16 teams – three of which are from Ohio and one from West Virginia.
