Kentucky State announced in a press release Monday that men’s basketball coach Clarence Moore has been named the head coach of the Thorobreds.

Formerly, Moore served as the interim head coach.

The Georgia Tech graduate has been the head man for K-State the past two years, taking over mid-season in 2009 and guiding KSU to a 12-17 record last season.

“He emerged as the best candidate for us because of the way he brought the team together,” said K-State director of athletics Denisha Hendricks.

“We were also impressed with the way he handled the team, the amount of teaching that occurred during practice, the care he provided the team on and off the court and the importance he placed on academics.”
