Weather wiped out the second day of the Daniel Boone Invitational golf tournament at the Frankfort Country Club Saturday. Since not all players finished before late storm clouds arrived, the entire round was canceled and Sunday’s flights were set based on Friday’s opening round.
That leaves Brad Faulkner with a commanding seven-stroke lead over the rest of the field. Faulkner shot an eight-under 64 to open the tournament on Friday. The next closest challengers are Brian James and Doug Story, who each shot rounds of 71.
Faulkner, James and Story tee off at 1:50 p.m. Sunday for the final round.
Rick Harp, who opened with a 72, rounds out the leading foursome, while Jerrod Adams, Ches Musselman, Robert Britton and Guy Clark are next in line on the leaderboard and tee off at 1:40 p.m.
Rob Duff, Hunter Frazier and Matthew Martin are all tied atop the First Flight-Gold at 76.
In the Second Flight-Gold, a four-way tie stands between Hayden Barrows, Blake Bolin, R.B. Brown, Michael Vanderveer and Deuce Wall. All shot rounds of 81.
In Third Flight-Gold, Mike Cherry, Rob Hardy, Mac Marshall, Jeff Strange and Bradley Sutherland are tied with rounds of 83.
Frank Haydon and Sam McNamara lead the Fourth Flight-Gold at 86, and John Brewer, John Covington and Jimmy Simpson lead the Fifth Flight-Gold at 89.
