Adult organizational meeting is Aug. 10
The City of Frankfort Parks and Recreation Department will be holding its adult softball organizational meeting Tuesday, Aug. 10 for teams interested in participating in the fall softball leagues.
The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at City Hall in the Council Chambers. Coaches must be attend the meeting and pay their entry fee of $350.
Teams who are present at the meeting with their entry fee will be taken first. For more information please contact the Parks office at 875-8575.
FRANKFORT HIGH
Basketball clinic is this week
The Frankfort High girls basketball program is hosting a basketball fundamentals clinic for boys and girls in grades 1 through 8 this week, Monday through Thursday.
The clinic will be from 12:30-5 p.m. each day, and the cost is $40. Those interested need to contact Deron Norman at (859) 537-0176.
Cross country practice begins Wednesday
The Frankfort High cross country team will have conditioning and training Wednesday, July 28 through Friday, July 30 at the Archives beginning at 7 p.m. each evening.
Anyone interested in joining the team is urged to attend, and all students must have a physical before they will be allowed to practice.
More information about the team will be available at the first training session July 28.
WESTERN HILLS
Cross country practice starts Monday
Cross country practice for Western Hills will start Monday, July 26 at the Library and Archives at 8 p.m.
Anyone interested in participating on the team should report to practice at that time. All athletes must have a physical before they will be allowed to practice.
More information about the team and its practices will be available July 26 at the first practice.
WHHS soccer camp is this week
The WHHS boys soccer team will host a soccer camp July 27-29 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. each day on the WHHS soccer practice field across from Bondurant Middle School.
Drop off and pick up will be available 30 minutes before and after camp for convenience.
The head clinician Jim Rue will be joined by Gary Rue to develop a camp to raise a player’s excitement level and encourage enthusiasm.
The camp is open to boys and girls ages 6-12. Registration is $65, which includes a camp T-shirt and free admission to the WHHS boys soccer game Sept. 2. Pre-registration was due July 10, but walk-ups are welcome.

Football alumni game is Aug. 19
Western Hills High School football invites all football alumni to participate in the Green/White flag football game on Aug. 19 at 6 p.m. at the WHHS football field.
Following the Green/White game, the Wolverines will scrimmage Lincoln County at 7:30 p.m.

ELKHORN MIDDLE
Football registration, meeting is set for Tuesday
Registration for EMS football and a parent meeting will be at the EMS practice field on Tuesday, July 27 from 6-7:30 p.m.
Players must bring a copy of their insurance card and a recently completed KHSAA sports physical.
Players will meet the coaching staff and be fitted for uniforms and equipment. For more information contact Chuck Anderson at 502-545-2032.
