Berl A. Robinson Sr., 82, of Frankfort passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington. Services for Mr. Robinson will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2010 at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Weaver and Pastor Jay Padgett will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Woodford County. Visitation for Mr. Robinson will be Thursday, July 29, 2010 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A native of Elliott County, he was born July 26, 1928. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean War. Mr. Robinson was the owner of Robinson Oil Company and a member, deacon and active greeter at Farmdale Baptist Church. He was a member and past president of Frankfort Scottish Rite Temple and Capital City Shrine Club; a member of the Lexington and Louisville Scottish Rite Temples, Oleika Shrine Temple, Lexington, and York Rite Mason, Louisville. He was a member and past commodore of the Frankfort Boat Club, served as the chairman of the Frankfort/Franklin County Heart Fund for 10 years and was the current chairman of the Farmdale Water District. He was the son of the late George Jennings and Melissa Triplett Robinson and was preceded in death by his brother, Russell Robinson; and two sisters, Emma Lee McNeal and Agnes Wilkerson. . Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruby Dixon Robinson; his son, Berl (Sharon) Robinson Jr.; three grandchildren, Berl Allen Robinson III, Atlanta, GA, Kurt Russell Robinson, Jessica Carol Robinson; two brothers-in-law, Charles Wilkerson, Rev. Amos Dixon, Ashland; nephews, Harold Robinson, David Robinson, C.T. Rose, Tommy Rose, Charles Allen Wilkerson; and nieces, Carole Ellis, Paulette Rose and Kathy Mangeot. Bearers will be Harold Robinson, David Robinson, Charles Allen Wilkerson, C.T. Rose, Louis Hammonds, Kurt Russell Robinson, Clifford Toles and Ted Collins. Honorary bearers will be the deacons of Farmdale Baptist Church.
