Karate Competition in Frankfort

Nick Stone stands tall after winning two first place ribbons during the Bluegrass State Games Karate competition at the Frankfort Convention Center on Saturday. Nick competed in the 10 and 11 year-old advanced division. His brother, Tony, won two first place ribbons in the 12 and 13 year-old advanced division. Tony Stone with his two first place ribbons. Tony and Nick were cheered on by their parents, Marc and Barbara. Hundreds of spectators turned out for the day-long Karate competition.

Good Job I rather see them at a Martial Arts competition than some where getting high on who knows what are some where making babies that can't take care of. So keeping on doing what you are doing cause it is a big deal when you are doing something good and coming in first place doing it.

Yes, it is a Big Deal. If they are truly dedicated in the Martial Arts they will learn things like poise, dedication, obediance,discipline, patience and self defense. These things will also carry into their dailey lives. Great job.

You are right, piranha, winning first place at that level is a big deal. I was at the competition and there were a lot of very talented young people competing. I think what I was most impressed with was their discipline. Most young people have no discipline anymore. I say thumbs up to everyone who competed last Saturday!
