Melinda Wheeler for State Treasurer

Dear Editor,State-Journal:

My friend, Melinda Wheeler should and most likely will be Kentucky's next Treasurer due to the fact that she's refreshingly honest and cares more about the people of the Commonwealth than her political career.

What's wrong with someone trying to get elected to fight for real reform, even if it means abolishing the office they hold? It's much like the story of the Emporer's New Clothes: the Office of State Treasurer has no powers. It does next to nothing and costs taxpayers millions of dollars that could otherwise go to our kids' schools.

I'm a Democrat who's voting with my party this year on down the line, except for one person -- Melinda Wheeler. She's the kind of honest reformer we need in Frankfort!

Signed,

Rick Paul

Well said, Chef. Partisian roots may run deep as they may. However, it's important to not loose focus on common sence. Again thanks for the refreshing viewpoint.

Sincerely,
