Frankfort resident John Witt, 54, a retired state trooper and now pilot for Comair, along with his father and son, helped rescue a severely injured sea turtle recently on South Padre Island in Texas. They later found out it’s a Kemp’s ridley turtle, a sub-adult of the most endangered species of sea turtles in the world.
