A Frankfort man has pleaded innocent to charges of burglary and cruelty to animals for allegedly stealing a laptop from his next door neighbor and fatally shooting her Shepherd/Chow mix. Samuel Richard Payne, 25, 246 Hickory Drive, appeared in Franklin Circuit Friday court during Friday's criminal motion docket, significantly abbreviated so courthouse personnel could attend the funeral of Squire N. Kids crawled through a tunnel, ran into a sprinkler and buried ping-pong balls at the Salato Wildlife Education Center Saturday as part of an educational obstacle course. The obstacle course was part of the seventh annual Herpetology House and followed the life cycle of a pond turtle. As they crawled through a triangular cardboard tunnel, kids pretended they were baby turtles.  Read Story.
