Alene “Eloise” Hopper Ballinger, 95, widow of the late Marion Ballinger, died Saturday. She was born May 1, 1914 to the late John and Mattie McNear Hopper in Owen County. She was a homemaker and a charter member of the New Life Worship Center. She is survived by six daughters, Mildred Robinson, Rosemary Dews, Joan Penn, Linda (Tommy) Leitch, Janet (Haney) Johnson, Marsette (Al) Harris of Louisiana; four sons, Wesley Ballinger of Frankfort, Charles Ballinger, James (Teresa) Ballinger, and Kenny (Amy) Ballinger; thirty grandchildren, forty great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Lenora and June Craig; and three sons, Laurel Ray, Alfred and Danny Ballinger. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Tuesday at Clark Funeral Home with Reverend Everett Hawkins officiating. Casket bearers are her grandsons. Visitation is 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday.
