Services for Ina Dailey Horwitz, of Frankfort will be conducted from First United Methodist Church, Washington St. at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009. Dr. Jackson Brewer will officiate. Burial will follow in Frankfort Cemetery. 
Visitation will be at the church Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Dailey, Richard Dailey, Gayle Dailey, Mike Dailey, Keith Tipton and Will Graham.
Mrs. Horwitz died Friday, November 13, 2009.
She was born July 3, 1911 to George Thomas and Lelia Harrod Dailey. She was the wife of Louis V. Horwitz, deceased. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Aubrey Dailey, Harry Dailey and Howard Dailey and her sister, Helen Dailey Hawkins.
She is survived by her daughter, Melodye H. Kinkead (Shelby) of Versailles and her son by marriage, Arthur J. Horwitz (Joan) of New York, New York; her granddaughters, Elizabeth Kinkead Descarpentries (Christophe) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Alex Kinkead Mason, also of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jan Horwitz Abraham (David) of Merion Station, Pennsylvania, Lisa Horwitz Booth (Henry) of Coatsville, Pennsylvania, her grandson, R. J. Horwitz of Grafton, Massachusetts, her great grandchildren, Ina Elizabeth Mason, Lola McCall Mason, Louis Carneal Descarpentries, Jordana Abraham, Juliet Abraham, Rose Abraham, Laura Booth and Nicholas Booth; nieces, Brenda Hawkins Tipton (Bill), Anne Hawkins Morgan (Rudy), nephew John Dailey Hawkins, and her beloved nephews who are serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Horwitz was born in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Shortly after her birth, her family returned to Kentucky to their farm in Swallowfield, a small farming community in Franklin County. She loved farming and assisting in managing the farm all of her life. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Frankfort, the Frankfort Country Club, the Homemakers Garden Club and the American Rose Society. She shared her passion for gardening with her husband who created Melodye Park, a Frankfort landmark, open to the public for many years before if was flooded by the Kentucky River in the 1950’s.
She had many hobbies including photography, quilting, dressmaking, needlepoint and embroidery. She had a great love for the River and in her younger days enjoyed boating and surf boarding with her husband.
Her first love was her family. Throughout her life she was devoted to her Mother and Father, her sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, children and grandchildren. In her later years she was devoted to her caregivers, especially Judy Powell.
