Dorcas Jane ‘Sam’ Seale, 76, died July 24, 2010 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Sam Seale was born March 9, 1934 in Camden, Illinois, the youngest daughter of the late Matthew and Ruby Tweedell. Graduating from Kentucky Baptist Nursing School in 1957, Sam was a retired registered nurse who worked at hospitals in Louisville, Bowling Green, Frankfort, and Lexington. She spent her later years in Florida fishing with friends. She loved horseback riding, reading, crossword puzzles, playing Hearts and Bookworm, vintage game shows, and all things shiny and colorful. She was preceded in death by siblings Robert Tweedell, William Tweedell, Marcella O’Bannon, and Rosemary Randolph; her husband of 40 years, Basil Earl Seale, and the tragic recent loss of her oldest daughter, Dr. Chelsea Jane Nevitt. She is survived by her daughter, Becky Bibro-Ebert (David), two grandchildren, Jessica and John Kenneth ‘Jake’ Nevitt, and two grand-dogs, Fuzz and Noodles Ebert. We all miss her dearly. It is said that the mother-daughter bond is one of the strongest and it can never be broken. No Matter What. That means some things don’t have to be understood or solved or perfect. We just keep on loving each other. No Matter What. I love you Mom. There will be no service. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Jane Nevitt Memorial Scholarship, through the Clark Memorial Hospital Foundation, care of Clark Memorial Hospital, Jeffersonville, IN. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home; condolences may be shared via the online guest book at www.harrodbrothersfuneralhome.com.
