William H. Church, 68, of Frankfort passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010 at his home.

Services for Mr. Church will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Rev. Tom Troth and Rev. Vernon Carpenter will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Woodford County.

Visitation for Mr. Church will be Tuesday, July 27, 2010 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church.

A native of Floyd County, he was born May 11, 1942. During his service in the US Army, he was stationed in Germany where he worked in communications. After his military service, he continued his work in communications as a system technician and retired from AT&T and Kentucky state government. Mr. Church was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and Choateville Ruritan Club. As a member of the Ruritan Club, he served as a National Director, District Governor and held various positions in the local chapter.

He was the son of the late Howard Curtis and Sallie Belle Miller Church and was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Church and Curt Church.

Mr. Church is survived by his wife of 47 years, Brenda Sudduth Church; a son, William H. (Andrea L.) Church Jr., Lexington; two grandchildren, William H. Church III and Annika L. Church, both of Lexington; a sister, Flora Belle Phillips, Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.                     

Bearers will be John Updike, Jimmy Rogers, Chester Hillard, Donald Allen, Billy Caudle and Ron Harrod. Honorary bearers will be Tommy Smith, Billy Duvall, Harry Rice, Chuck Lewis, Garnett Baker and Darryl Snook.
