Someone burglarized a city police cruiser last week and stole a shotgun, three knives and pepper spray.
The cruiser was parked in front of Officer Richard Tuckers house in the 1300 block of Equestrian Way Nov. 28 when it was broken into about 9:30 p.m., a police report said.
Maj. Fred Deaton said there was no physical damage to the vehicle and the vehicle was locked. Apparently they jimmied the lock someway, he said.
The shotgun is a city-owned 12-gauge Remington 870 pump action. Its valued at $250.
Tucker owns the knives, which include a 6-inch black CRKT with a black rubber handle and black serrated edge blade valued at $150, a 4-inch Kershaw with a solid black tanto serrated edge valued at $40, and a 3-inch black Gerber with a straight blade valued at $60.
Also, Tuckers wife, Wendy, reported her Toyota 4-Runner was burglarized and a Sony CD Walkman stolen. The Walkman is valued at $20.
Deaton said its standard for police to keep guns locked in their cars while off duty. He said there was no physical evidence at the scene.
