Frankfort
Frankfort Arts Foundation's 2007-08 season continues 7:30 p.m., FRIDAY with Great Community Gospel in Bradford Hall on the Kentucky State University campus. The event features Kenny Bishop, the Capital City Chorale, KSU Gospel Ensemble and No Tools Loaned.
FAF season tickets will be honored and tickets for this performance will be available at the door.
Following Friday night's performance there are two offerings remaining in the current season:
>Award Winning Bands on May 9 in Bradford Hall featuring bands from KSU, Frankfort High, Franklin County and Western Hills.
>The Leadingham Prose-Poetry Reading as May 24 at the Church of the Ascension, Washington St.

Frankfort Regional Medical Center's Around the Clock $5 jewelry sale continues until 3 p.m. FRIDAY. The sale is taking place in the Multipurpose Room of the hospital and proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

Two dance events continue through FRIDAY at South Frankfort Presbyterian Church, 224 Steele St. For more information about either event call Don or Sylvia Coffey at 747-5700.
Panoply, featuring ancient dance and drama troupe, is from 6-7 p.m. This includes rapper sword, garland dance, morris dance, longsword, bacca pipes, horn dance, and mummers play. Intergenerational community folk dancing and dance band for "families, singles and friends" will be held from 7-9.

The Franklin County High School Band will hold a barn sale beginning at 8 a.m. SATURDAY in the barn at Lakeview Park. All proceeds will go to benefit the band.
The Helping Hands Circle of the Bridgeport Christian Church, 175 Evergreen Rd., will hold a pancake breakfast SATURDAY at the church. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, and drinks. The cost is a donation and all proceeds will go to benefit the circle's scholarship fund.
The event was postponed in March because of the late-season blizzard.

The Kentucky Roadrunners will conduct a motorcycle ride beginning at 11 a.m. SATURDAY for the benefit of the Frankfort YMCA. The ride will begin at the YMCA on Broadway and was originally scheduled for Saturday, April 19.

Two car cruise-ins are scheduled for this weekend.
>A Kosair for Children Fundraiser Cruise-In is set for 6-9 p.m. FRIDAY at Wal-Mart.
>The Capital City Classic Auto Club will be host a car cruise on SATURDAY from 6-9 p.m. at K-mart. Classic cars and trucks can register for two $50 prizes to be given away.

A Night of Bluegrass is set for 8-11 p.m. SATURDAY at VFW Post 4075, West Second Street. The North Frankfort Baptist Church sponsors the event with all proceeds from the $5 admission going to benefit Relay for Life. Performers include Benson Creek, No Tools Loaned and Rev. Wade Hughes & Friends.

American Legion Auxiliary Unit 7, 164 Versailles Rd., is hosting a 50s Dancebeginning at 8 p.m. SATURDAY. The cost is $5 per person and finger foods will be served from 7-8. Proceeds will be used to benefit the Auxiliary'sveterans'and children's programs.

Saxophonist Hunt Butler, pianist Dave Shelton and percussionist Robert Griffin will be accompanied by trumpeter Rick Cook and bassist Frank Smith in a Kentucky State University faculty jazz concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Bradford Hall Auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public.

The Kentucky State University Jazz Ensemble will present a concert featuring big band music from the libraries of Count Basie, Quincy Jones, Buddy Rich, and Bob Mintzer at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Bradford Hall Auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public.

The senior art exhibit of Jennifer Lawson continues through May 9 in Jackson Hall Gallery on the Kentucky State University campus. Lawson is presenting archival digital photographs, sculpture, and original furniture designs. Gallery hours are 9-5 daily, or by appointment by calling Reba Rye, 597-5994.

Spring Thing 2008 is set for Saturday, May 10, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. in downtown Frankfort. The event features classic cars, muscle cars, street rods, and this year various race cars and motorcycles. It will be staged on both sides of Broadway and St. Clair.

The Capital City Chorale, under the direction of Gary Johnson, will present its Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 13. Location and time will be announced.

Salato Wildlife Education Center, Louisville Road, is now open for the spring. Hours of operation through May 31 are Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and 10-5 on Saturdays.
Upcoming programs:
>Spring into Fishing, Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Cost: $10. Limit: 15, 12 and under. Staff and volunteers will teach kids how to fish. A sack lunch will be provided free for registered kids, additional lunches are available for $5 for parents. Registration and pre-payment required.

Tickets are on sale now for $5 each for Cow Pasture Bingo set for 3 p.m. May 18 as part of this year's Project Graduation. Those purchasing tickets are eligible for a $1,000 prize and do not need to be present to win.

Liberty Hall Historic Site is open for tours Tuesday through Saturday at 10:30 a.m., noon, 1:30 and 3 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors and $1 for students under 18 years of age. Children 4 and under are free. Tours begin at Liberty Hall and proceed to the Orlando Brown House.
Liberty Hall Historic Site, a National Historic Landmark, includes Liberty Hall, the home of Senator John Brown, and the Orlando Brown House. Country Place Jamboree, 60 Old Sheep Pen Road, is open every Saturday night featuring classic country, 6-7, then from 7:30-10:30 continuous live country music with the Weekend Warriors Band and a different showcase artist each week. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and $3 for children ages 6-12.

Historic sites and museums in downtown Frankfort are open the following hours. Admission is charged.
Hours for the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History and the Old State Capitol are: Exhibit galleries and 1792 Store 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday; research library 8-4 Tuesday-Saturday and special collections Thursday-Friday 8-4 and by appointment only Tuesday-Wednesday.

Admission, which admits the ticket holder to both, is $4 for adults, $2 for youth 6-18, and free for children 5 and under. Members of the Kentucky Historical Society or the Junior Historical Society are admitted free with membership cards and military veterans are admitted free to the KMHM with a military service card, with admission for veterans being $3 for the other sites. No ticket is required for the library or 1792 Store in the History Center.

Shelbyville
The Shelby County Master Gardening Association will host the eighth annual Shelbyville County Garden and Art Fair from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. SATURDAY at the Shelby County Fairgrounds Pavilion, US 60 at the corner of Hwy 53 N.
The event features hundreds of perennial plants from members' gardens offered for sale, garden exhibits, arts and crafts displays, music and food.

Bagdad
The annual Bagdad Days Festival will be held May 9-10. The event includes a 5K (3.1-mile) run/walk beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 10. Race day registration is in front of the Bagdad Baptist Church and the fee is $25. Pre-registration is $20. Lexington
Arbor Day at the Arboretum is set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. SATURDAY at the State Botanical Garden of Kentucky, 500 Alumni Dr. The event will feature more than 40 exhibitors with information on topics ranging from building your own rain garden to paper making. There'll be activities for children and free tree seedlings. Refreshments and T-shirts will be sold.

The Frankfort-Lexington Chapter of The Links, Inc., is sponsoring its Ninth Annual Derby Eve Gala on Friday, May 2, at the Embassy Suites, 1801 Newtown Pike in Lexington.
Gala is a black-tie affair from 6:30 p.m. until midnight. It features a silent auction, dinner, dancing and a cash bar. The band, "Sweet Dreams", will provide music. Tickets are $60 per person. The Central Kentucky Concert Band (CKCB) will present its 32nd Annual May Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at the Opera House. The concert is free; donations will be accepted. The theme is Poor Pluto and the performance will feature the band's performance of The Planets by Gustav Holtz.

Tickets are on sale for the Hank Williams Jr. and Lynyrd Skynyrd Throw-Down set for Friday, May 30 at Rupp Arena. James Otto will appear as a special guest star. Versailles
The Woodford County Theatrical Arts Association concludes its presentation this weekend of Noises Off. Friday and Saturday the play will be staged at 8 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee set for Sunday. All stagings are at the Falling Springs Arts and Recreation Center, 275 Beasley Rd.

The gallery at Woodford Reserve Distillery, 7855 McCracken Pike, is featuring weavings and photographs by Dobree Adams through MONDAY. Adams, who lives on a Kentucky River farm north of Frankfort, is recognized as one of Kentucky's major contemporary fiber artists. Lawrenceburg
Eagle Lake Country Music Show is presented every Saturday night beginning at 8 p.m. at the Eagle Lake Convention Center on U.S. 127 South, six miles from Interstate 64. General admission tickets are $10 for adults, and children 12 and under are admitted free. Mike Fryman and the Eagle Lake Band featuring Les Taylor of Exile perform regularly with special guests each week. For more information call (859) 235-0613.

Louisville
Opening April 22 and continuing through June 29 at the Speed Museum is Raw Loop, an exhibition of the work of Austrian artist Werner Reiterer.
