LACK OF DISCRETIOIN

May 6, 2008

It is obvious the State Journal is unable to edit comments posted under certain articles before they go on the website...and in most cases it is unnecessary. Despite all the bickering and differing view points, everyone is free to voice their opinion. However, in the case of "Man admits to using Internet to lure teen for sex (May 4, 2008)", one reader took it upon themselves to tell everyone the 14 year old victim's name. Despite being quite tacky in itself, the reader goes on to call her names, her mother names, and even brings her grandfather into it. I'm not a lawyer, but I do know most publications do not publish the names of victim's of sexual abuse and other such crimes. Is there nothing that can be done about this?
