There's a multi-state search for a man wanted in a local murder in January and today it's focused on an address in Ohio, says Major Fred Deaton.
Demetrius McClellon, 18, is a fugitive from justice and wanted in the Jan. 24 murder of Jonathan L. McFadden, 20, Deaton said.
Frankfort police found McFadden shot in the head at 1:21 a.m. at the Hickory Hills Manor, 120 Marlowe Court. He died at the University of Kentucky hospital.
The investigation has prompted police to get a criminal complaint to capture McClellon, Deaton said.
Deaton said McClellon's last whereabouts are unknown, but police have a lead at an Ohio address. Deaton said Frankfort police are working with U.S. Marshals.
Police questioned Ritchie Williams, of Jefferson County, after police stopped him, along with the victim's brother, leaving the area where McFadden was slain.
Williams was arrested on outstanding warrants in Jefferson County, but was not connected to the shooting, Deaton told The State Journal in January.
McClellon is black with brown eyes, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 120 lbs. He was 17 at the time of the shooting.
Anyone with information about McClellon should call Frankfort police at 502-875-8648 or Frankfort Crimestoppers at 502-875-8648. A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to McClellon's arrest.
