NO. 3 FRANKFORT VS. GARRARD CO.
at Sower Field
Kickoff: 7:30 p.m.
Radio: 1490-AM, pregame show at 7 p.m.
Records: Frankfort (8-1); Garrard Co. (4-5)
Last week: Frankfort defeated Danville 35-31; Garrard Co. defeated Pendleton Co. 49-28
FHS notes: The Panthers are riding high after taking down perennial power Danville last week for the second season in a row. This week's opponent is meaningless on paper - a non-district team - but a win could go a long way to continue the Panthers' momentum going into the playoffs next week against Dayton. Running back Quan Weaver continues to lead the team in rushing with 128 carries for 1,178 yards and 11 touchdowns. Quarterback Keri Metcalf has passed for 746 yards (26-of-72) and 12 touchdowns. Dwight Tillman has been the receiver of choice all season long with 23 catches for 620 yards and 16 touchdowns.
A look at Garrard Co.

Class: 3A
Key players: Jamarious Merritt (RB/LB), Cash Staley (QB/LB), Tyler Ray (WR/DB)
Head coach: Mark Scenters
Last year's record: 5-7 (Lost to Somerset 54-0 in the second round of the playoffs)

Notes: The Golden Lions will have a tough time with Frankfort's running game on Friday. Garrard Co. has allowed an average of 219 yards per game this season on the ground. FHS' top running back Quan Weaver averages just over 147 yards per game this season. Also, the Lions have given up 32 points per game this season. Frankfort averages 37 points per game. Obviously the math is in FHS' favor, but Garrard Co. is not without some weapons of its own. Jamarious Merritt has 66 carries for 609 yards this season and seven touchdowns. Quarterback Cash Staley has thrown for 1,302 yards on 77-of-125 passing with 18 touchdowns. Tyler Ray leads the receiving corps with 30 catches for 691 yards and 11 touchdowns.
WESTERN HILLS VS. ANDERSON CO.
at Hollie Warford Jr. Field
Kickoff: 7:30 p.m.
Records: Western Hills (5-4); Anderson Co. (6-3)
Last week: Western Hills lost to Lafayette 21-0; Anderson Co. lost to Marion Co. 42-39
WHHS notes: The Wolverines began their season with an amazing 5-1 record and had aspirations of winning their first district title. But three-straight losses have put WHHS in a funk with Elizabethtown looming in the first round of the playoffs. Last week's loss to Lafayette meant nothing just like this week's game against Anderson Co., but a strong showing or even a win, would be a confidence boost that the Wolverines are in desperate need of. Running back Justin Wright leads WHHS on the ground with 105 carries for 506 yards and six touchdowns. Quarterback Dylan Curry has completed 93-of-188 passes this season with 1,147 yards, five interceptions and eight touchdowns. Darius Reed is the leading receiver with 23 catches for 369 yards and four touchdowns.
