Candidates Wanted

January 10, 2010

I had sent an email to the SJ requesting they write an article on the upcoming local elections so folks would know what positions were up for election PRIOR to the final one or two days before the filing deadlines. Often, I have heard folks say afterward, IF I KNOWN that office was up for election, I would have filed.... (whether or not they MEANT it may be debatable, but it does make sense.

Currently, about the only articles written about local elections are when someone files for a specific office, but a LOT of folks wait until the last few hours to file to lessen the chance they may have to actually run for the office.

So when I saw the SJ Editorial on Candidates Wanted, obviously, I was interested in what was being written, BUT the copy the "hard copy" I received at home was so blurred, as were a couple of other pages, that I couldn't read ANY of it. So... I THOUGHT I'd read it on the State Journal's electronic copy... WRONG!!!

Now, WHY in world would the SJ lock it's OWN EDITORS' comments???

Guess, I'll find out on January 28th -- the DAY AFTER the filing deadline....
