I am not sure if anyone has the same opinion, but I have to share this. I think that Frankfort Animal Clinic is by far the best vet service in town, maybe within the next few towns. Their vets are thorough and they truly care about the patients. Dr. Kennedy is the best, she is a caring dog owner that will take the time to do whatever it takes to make you and your pet feel comfortable. Dr. King is a great surgeon and the rest of the vets will do whatever it takes to get your pet healthy. The office staff is great and they dote on any animal you bring in. Kudos to the FAC, I would not let anyone else take care of my dog and future pets.

After trying to comprehend what lild72383 is writing, I have to ask, why are you saying that your cat was not sick but on the 19th you clearly stated that you took your pet it in for vomiting? aren't you ill if your vomiting? You should probably think about what you are writing before you call someone else ignorant. And maybe you shouldn't judge either, unless you were watching over the doctors' shoulder the entire time. Im not even a doctor, but I'am intelligent enough to understand the weight ANY type of doctor has to carry on their shoulders and I respect the fact that they are willing to do what they can to save my pet at any cost. When cost is an issue, everyone has their choice to go else-where. If you want the best, then you should expect to pay for the best. **** happens, you can't expect a pet to live forever, and you shouldn't blame someone for your loss when they tried to help you. BUT THATS JUST MY OPINION.

And Secondly, as a client of The Frankfort Animal Clinic I just want to say that if it wasn't for the GREAT doctors and staff, then my Baby wouldn't be alive today. Thank you for your help! =)

seems to me there's someone who is too close the new vet ? the cat wasn't old to start with & wasn't sick either. it was routine. but you're right better she be a vet than a real doctor for i'm sure no-one would want to see an old sick child die. after all it only happens everyday in frankfort. see now i can sound just as ignorant as you. get the facts first befor you judge a story that way you don't have to look like .... well you know.

I use The Animal Clinic in Lawrenceburg; all 3 of their vets are very caring and very good. They microchipped my dog for $18.50--the cost of the chip--when one of the shelters had a grant-funded program going, in Louisville I know people have paid up to $200 for that service. The annual check-up, shots, heartworm, etc. blood test and a nail clipping is about $96. They charge $36 for a 6 month supply of Interceptor worm pills which is cheaper than 1800PetMeds' price with shipping; also the staff is especially courteous. They saved my dog's life when he ate some cheese wrappers and had a bowel obstruction, it cost me $400 but the emergency service was prompt and professional. I will gladly drive the 10 miles south for this level of service and I think the prices are reasonable even on my limited budget.

I meant to say that the FAC is FAB-U-LICIOUS! Y'all are awesome! Go Drs. King, Kennedy, Trussell, and Mitchell!

I would just like to say that I think that the FAC is fabulous! I have taken all of my animals there and I have felt nothing but concern and compassion from the staff and vets. Everyone makes mistakes. People expect vets to be miracle workers and the fact is that they make mistakes just like the rest of us. We should be thankful for the FAC and the services that they provide to our animals. We all know before we get an animal that it isn't cheap- therefore, we should not complain about the prices. The staff and vets are always very friendly! In addition, can I just say how cute those receptionist are? Especially, that milk chocolate one! I think that her name is Tyler!

It's been my experience that the vets at Frankfort Animal Clinic have always been helpful and compassionate. They all seem to love my great dane every time I take him there. I just had them perform soft palette surgery on my French bulldog a couple of weeks ago too, and the surgery went perfectly. He's like a new dog!!! The facility is professional and top-notch, while still having enough "hometown" feeling to make you feel comfortable. I've dealt with both of the new vets that started in the last few months and don't have a bad thing to say about either of them. Prices are fair too, I pay less at FAC than I did when I lived in Southern Kentucky.

As far as the "no after hours" comment posted earlier, I don't have a problem with it at all. An emergency clinic would be much better staffed and equipped than calling a vet out of his/her house at 2AM or interrupting their church service, dinner, etc. They have lives too. I can't call my family practitioner up at midnight and get answers; I have to go to the emergency room so why would it be any different with my pet? In fact, it's even worse, because vets have the same amount of college as a human doctor, have the same loans over their heads, and yet get paid far less. And on top of that we're supposed to except them to never have a life other than to work? I used to have a job where I was made to be in call, and those who haven't just don't understand how much of an invasion of privacy it truly is. There's a reason why most all human doctors stopped doing it years ago.

Ok for starters it sounds to me like someone's old sick cat died? However, I have lost a sick cat at a very good and trusted vet clinic! Guess what, it happens everyday, and in this scenario the complaint and petition were filed and apparently denied by the state vet board, so what we have is very common among doctor patient/client situations. The initial blame of the death goes to the doc, its a very common practice, people lose loved ones and they start pointing fingers. A pet is like a family member and we become very attached to them, and when things go bad we become very upset. However, to be a doctor at any level of species is to take on the biggest roll of expectations a person can have, and to further that point animal doctors go through 10 times the work for half the pay of human doctors. The understanding of several species related issues is huge and then further that by a lack of communication skill and you have the best of the best of doctors working on your animals everyday. The world is sorry for the loss of your cat, but the defamation of ones character in response to your loss, though sad, shows the true color of your character and your inability to except death as part of life. I assure you that when a person carries the label of Veterinarian they do it with the best of intentions. SO stop being mad, start accepting the death of your loved one, move on, and be thankful that these people have chosen to dedicate their lives to the most unthankful work anyone could ever want to do and if you do not believe that take a second and review this scenario and it should make sense to you.

it's true everyone has their own opinions. mine is not a very good one. yes at one time it was a good animal treatment center, but in recent since the new doctor came in things have gone way down hill. she does not care about your animals & pets or maybe she just doesn't know what she's doing. i took my cat in for throwing up & i made it clear my cat was not to be under any type of seditive but did she listen? no she did not she put my baby under & let her asperate in her own vomit. she left my baby in a cage & did not call me but waited untill i arrived to pick her up. only then was i told of this mistake i was made to wait in a room while she tryed to cover her but by putting my cat on oxagen. then i was told if i had $1200.00 i could take her to lexington animal hospital & maybe she might make it a few more hours.to me the doc should be run out of town & her license taken away. personally i won't stop untill she is made to either learn how to be a vet or is no longer in practice. i watched 3 other people pack out their dead pets that same night. & all of us charged an out ragous price. i have a petition started online & have asked for an investagation be done. so if there are any you who have had the same bad dealings with this new doc at the frankfort vet hospital please i urge you to write about it .togeather we can stop her from killing our beloved pets.
