How many empty subdivisions along US 60 do we need?
Frankfort/Franklin County is not expected to increase in population in the next 10 years.
Why do gov't officials keep approving more subdivisions? Where are the people coming from? Who will purchase/rent the apartments being built in the new shopping center by I-64 East? Who would want to listen to the noise from cars and Semi's or breathe the air pollution so close to the source?
We already have two empty subdivisions on US 60. Do we need another?
Or we can keep approving housing developments and end up like a smaller version of Flint Michigan.

Here is an excerpt: But Mr Kildee, who has lived there nearly all his life, said he had first to overcome a deeply ingrained American cultural mindset that "big is good" and that cities should sprawl " Flint covers 34 square miles.
He said: "The obsession with growth is sadly a very American thing. Across the US, there's an assumption that all development is good, that if communities are growing they are successful. If they're shrinking, they're failing."

Recon does NOT represent anything but Recon, and certainly not the fine men and women of the Marines. He says he has been out of the Marines since the mid 80's...lessee, what conflicts were we in at that time? None? That was when the NG was a good way to go to college...no wars.
His only "recon" missions now are to Wally World to fetch the missus's grocery list. He is reportedly in full cammo when he makes these missions. He is so good at it that nobody can see him in the store...he is in and out before the enemy knows he is there.
He says that he didn't "quit" the Marines, but that he was injured (when he was drunk and fell off a truck?). I can't tell you if that is true, but is sure sounds like it could be. But he is still well enough (in his own mind) to work hard everyday in the hot sun on construction job sites and kick Mo'Fo's arses in the "ring" out behind Wendy's on Friday night.
Why is he sooo mean to everybody? It must be time to empty his colostomy bag. He is one mean soldier...as long as he is hiding behind his anonymity! Anymore women that you want to beat up on, there buddy?

Growth after maturity is cancer...think about it.
More important is sustainability...that is what we should be emphasizing. Of course, that does not build many houses or sell many lots, and as long as realtors run things around here on the zoning boad, we will never see it.

I feel growth is good for almost every town IF they have the space. Frankfort is at a good size now and I enjoy residing here. This is where I will stay and die.

As a former Marine I apologize to the posters for the comments of ReconMarine and assure you he does not represent the Corps.
The blight that passes for development in Frankfort is not "good", it is blight. The decade of debate over "Cracker Barrel" had nothing whatsoever to do with Cracker Barrel. It was totally about rezoning 10.4 acres and 4 lots from Professional Office to Highway Commerical. And it was consistantly and with malice misrepresented by the local paper and county officials. Good growth starts with facing reality.

Is there a specific reason why the state journal continues to allow this "marines" language? Does it make you feel like a big man spouting off in a public forum?
Way to represent the military. You're pathetic.

No, I just mean that the depth of your personality is revealed in your latest posts. You truly seem to be a nasty person, not just the opinionated explicative you admit to being.
