And no, it wasn't a K-9 unit. I could see that being needed.

This is crazy. The people who are complaining about our police officers are usually people who have a criminal record or have had a bad experience with them. Yes, we have some of the best police officers around. I personally know the majority of them and would depend on any of them to assist me if I were to need their help.

Louie have at it with the carryng around camera angle to catch police doing improper things. While your at it try helping the police as well and maybe videotape some of the crimes that take place in your neighborhood and get involved. And the officers computers are on a docking station and come out at the end of there shift and are secrued in their houses. They don't sit in the sun. Any more questions?

leaving the police cars running is adding to global warming, wasting gas, and about the computers in the heat how come they set in front of the policemans home not running then? does it not get hot in your driveway? stop trying to justify and defend wrong doing by fellow officers. alot of people are trying to find fault in the person who posted this instead of trying to find out what all the police are doing. a guy in New York carrys a video camera and records the stuff they do then they can't continue to lie about it, it is then on tape. more of us should do the same then they will have to crack down on them. the police will arrest a law breaker (unless they are an illegal alien) then they should be held to the same standards.

At least part of this story is BS. You don't call Headquarters to complain about ANYTHING and get told to mind your own business. Who did you speak to when you called? If you call in a complaint it's normally forwarded to that officers immediate supervisor and it's investigated. The officers know better than to leave there car running for extended periods of time. Does that mean they always turn them off?? Nope, and if you give the car number I assure you they will be reprimanded. There are computers that can sometime overheat in extreme conditions but it has to be really hot. And for whoever said officers should be held accountable and held to higher standards I couldn't agree more. I personally know that the Frankfort Police Dept. has some of the finest leaders and officers this state has to offer. I'm not saying cut them some slack for what they do but i'll argue with anyone who thinks otherwise. Unfortunately for us we're just a necessary evil for some. You don't want to see us until you need us. For those that want to know, or those that think they know, sign up for the citizens police academy the Frankfort Police Dept. offers and let me know your opinion afterwards.

I am sure they have their reason(s) for not leaving or leaving their engines on when leaving their cruisers. I wish people had something else to do instead of critizing our officials. PEOPLE, YOU NEED TO GET A FREAKIN' LIFE!

Hey jr7040, they think you are married to a cop. Hee hee

Sounds like Cowbell hit a nerve with Jewel and Jr7040! Ha! Ha!

I would say they are either married to cops in Frankfort or they are probably the so-called "informers" for the cops.

The cops in this town have the reputation they have because of how they conduct themselves on-duty and off-duty.

Everyone has a right to their opinion....leave Cowbell alone and go narc on someone. That will probably make you feel better...Ha! Ha! I must laugh......

Why do people have to be so harsh on here?

I know at my company if the truck is left idle for too long, my boss gets a GPS alert on his laptop. These programs are relatively inexpensive, maybe the city should think about it. It would also end speeding when not code 3
