Padlocks, I stand corrected!!!!

It is entirely my fault for the opinion on the padlocks. After submitting my first opinion and went back to the homepage, the padlocks mysteriously reappeared. Am I seeing things? Or maybe, not seeing things?

Oh, don't feel bad. I have that problem, too. If the main article is locked, I don't think you can see the lock. Other articles on the home page they sometimes don't load. Then of course there are the articles previously unlocked, then locked. Others get eventually unlocked. Weird system.

I doubt it'll get people to subscribe to the full service just because of the locks.

You're correct -- that's why I posted a story about the same thing: http://www.state-journal.com/news/simple_article/4611889. You never know if a lock (the image) does indeed rep. a "locked" article. They come and go, and sometimes they appear on "unlocked" articles, too.

No, it's been the same here too. Sometimes I see him, other times here lately, I haven't. Just been directed to that same message you posted. Wish they would just make them all viewable!
