Police agencies around here are getting grants from the Federal Government. The more people they pull over and charge with something, the more money they get. Cops here work the assemply line to keep the jails full to generate money for the city...in the process ruining many lives for minor offenses.
Cops here are looking for any reason at all to pull anyone over. They are very serious about busting as many people as possible for whatever reason right now.
Don't touch the center line or weave when they get on your tail and follow you around. This is the most common excuse they use when pulling someone over.
Don't speed, don't leave ANY establishment that serves alcohol around closing time because the coppers are circling the blocks then like nazis huntign for jews and pull ANYONE over just for you leavign there, whether you had a drink or not. They WILL make up some type of lame excuse.
So please be very very careful!...even whn you leave the car and walk home to be safe, they will look for a reason to bust you with a PI charge.

That's because it is ok if the city is making money.

I've seen some of the same things Hullbilly is talking about...and then there are times like...one Friday night down on St Clair Mall where they were having the Music at the Old Capital Lawn. On St Clair, people were outside going in and out of the bars down there walking around the mall drinking in public, some more than half drunk and the FPD Officers there were so HO HUM, it was surprising. They didn't seem to care that they knew that those people were out in public drinking outside the bars ( in those little plastic cups, of course). The officers just rode around or walked around and pretty much ignored what was going on. Kinda odd?
Well, drinking beer in public on that street is permitted as long as it is in a Dixie cup. No mixed drinks or bottles are allowed.
I know the owner of the Brick and a couple ABC people so I know you can do it. Matter of fact did it this weekend.

pianoman, go ahead and move to China if you want a police state. I WILL question authority and make sure my rights are not infringed upon.
So you and friggin Obama can get on a damn boat, raise that red commie flag, and get the hell out of my country.

What is it you're not going to take anymore? You say you're a "cop hater" but if you needed help, you know you would call them. And, you WILL TAKE whatever they have to do with you. Once they get ahold of you, you don't go anywhere. I despise people who think they are above the law. It sounds like you aren't though. If they put you under arrest, what in the world do you think you're going to do? NOTHING! Let them take you to jail and throw away the freakin' key. May you rot there.

Keen observation there, Velvety.
We "cop haters", as I have been called, are
not gonna take it anymore!

I have noticed there are 3 posts regarding the Frankfort police in the top 25 most read articles and most of it is complaints or bad experiences. That's saying something!

Well, you know, they all started out small at one time. Behavior doesn't change with promotion, it reinforces it. After all, it's the success rate the behavior got that got them the promotion.

Big bad apples, huh? Sounds like a familiar children's story, with fruit substituted for a wolf. Damn those big, bad apples!

I have heard a Frankfort police officer (whom was also a family member) say that the coruption runs so deep that an officer would never speek out against the department. Some of the bad apples are also BIG apples.
