Their fireworks may not have been much because they are only able to operate with a small budget. At least they tried, so be happy with what you saw and appreciate our veterans for their prior service to protect YOU.

Thank you pianoman!! Some people like to complain. I wasn't there but saw them on cable 10 and thought they were just fine.

If you're relating to the Veterans' fireworks at Capital View Park, it was their decision to have it there. That's also where they had their BBQ Dinner for the veterans. Well, I took the family to the Capital Annex Garage overlooking the river right across from the Capital View Park. We had a wonderful view of the fireworks this year. Now, with that said, that was the only good part about it. The fireworks themselves were very disappointing this year. They didn't last long at all and if that was the Grand Finale....???? Upon being at the better location, the fireworks at the EXPO were much better than they were for the 4th. We were definitely disappointed in it. We stood out for about an hour waiting for them to start and they went on for a little while, but in no way were they comparable with any prior year in my memory. When we waited for more of the Grand Finale and then there was silence, people were looking around at each other like "Is That It?" Now, the traffic wasn't bad leaving. We took Capital Ave out to East Main and we were home in about 20 minutes. The traffic moved very well from the Capital. I bet it didn't move as smooth from Capital View Park...

What idiot in Frankfort decided to have the fireworks at Capital view park???? Over the river is better and plenty of parking off to the side of the road. There was no parking, it was small and cramped and there was no way you could get in and out of there in an emergency. I won't attend next year if it is held in the same location, I know others won't either. That's why no one hardly attended, it wasn't the rain that was the problem. Our city is a joke because of our officials and police.

Does it matter what your opinion is? You're not going to get them to change the location of the fireworks.

We prefer them at Capital Plaza for many reasons.

I like them at the Capital Plaza. I have seen no difference in the TYPE of fireworks that they shoot off at EXPO vs July 4th. They seem to go to about the same altitude. I don't know, who knows. If they will be at Capital View, then I will find a nice spot somewhere for my kids to see them.

We've always watched the fire works up by KDLA. Great view, easy crowd, and never a problem getting in and out.

Tyler, you are probably right...he does worry too much. But, I am afraid that is due to me. I am asthmatic, diabetic, and vision-imparied. I am very fortunate to have a husband who loves me so much he worries about me. I am blessed! :-)
