I am glad that PUMPKINFEST is no more. It's just one more thing that Frankfort doesn't have to fool with.

Well, that's the reason then, ain't it? I was just stating what Tourism said.

Just in case someone is ambitous enough and wants to use St. Clair Mall and put Pumpkinfest on, a permit will cost you $25, you have to have into the FPD 21 days before the event and you have to notify the businesses that will be affected.

I have received an answer concerning the PUMPKIN FEST. According to our local Tourism, there will be none this year. They said for the reasons, call DOWNTOWN FRANKFORT, INC., and speak with "Kelly". I've attended almost all them and by the way certain individuals are talking, it never went over very well and the attendances were smaller each year.

The Frankfort Jaycees are not in charge of the Pumpkin Festival. It is an event by Downtown Frankfort, Inc. (The Frankfort Jaycees did a lot of volunteer work for the event.) I searched through the Tourism Commission calendar of events and the Chamber's website and did not find anything about it. Miss P's kids may still be doing a costume contest. Their number is (502) 226-4946 if anyone would like to check. There will be the Ghosts of Frankfort event and the Black Cat Chase the following weekend. Coming soon: Festival of Trees, Candlelight Tour, Christmas Parade... lots of fun activities. Let's keep supporting our local merchants and groups!

CABLE 10 has all the information. They videotape the event every year. Call and ask them. Their
number is 352-4480.
