I've got a spendid idea! How about an indoor drive-in? Pull your car inside (as you did at the old drive-in on U.S. 60), pull up to a speaker, hang it on your window and watch the movie. Something different, isn't it?

I would like to see some group with proper funding purchase the property and construct a nice movie complex. There isn't a community around Central Kentucky, beside Frankfort, which doesn't have a nice theater with stadium seating. It's a shame the capitol city of the Commonwealth is always lacking in facilities, whether for entertainment or recreation.

Regardless whatever type recreation is implimented, someone is going to be upset because they didn't get "their" sport or recreation in the building. There is one fact that I really understand. You aren't going to satisfy everyone. There isn't any way possible. Someone is going to be upset because their game/event didn't get thought of. Whoever buys the building and creates whatever they are going to, they will have to do their best and make the best decision they know how to make the majority happy.

If you have ever noticed, everywhere there is a Walmart there is a Lowe's eigther at the other end of the property or right across the street. To add to the competition there is a HomeDepot in the same area. They are always built close to on ramps of a interstate or highly populated intersection. They just didn't count on how much Lyons Lumber would come into play here in Frankfort. Contractor's already had their accounts in place and HomeDepot is higher on most items. We all know Frankfort residents don't like change. As far as used green space there used to be a big Junk Yard there (Butterballs Junk Yard). He used the cars as spare parts to run his stock cars on the old dirt track. It's in better shape now even with a big empty building there at least there are no leaking batteries and used oil soaking into the ground.

Does anybody know who bought the building and it's expected use yet?

Agree, Vivian! While I miss having a skating rink in town, I see each post/pillar/pole in the interior as a lawsuit waiting to happen.

How about something that both adults and kids can enjoy? I like the ice and/or roller skating idea. Even the go-cart trail, as long as adults can use it, too. As an adult, I find there is very little here to do. I would welcome new opportunities/places where I could enjoy myself.
