Does the State Journal have any character?

I am totally disgusted by The State Journal's recent drawing about Farmers Bank and the Frankfort Plant Board picture. First of all the SJ rarely gets their facts straight and second, who are they to judge other companies for struggling in this economy like every other business in the country? Hey State Journal, what about the fact that you charge for obituaries now or the new fee to view stories on the website? I think the SJ needs to get a new editor and maybe that one will do his/her job and keep tasteless articles about sex offenders with their disgusting gut hanging out and other needless drwawings out of the paper! Hopefully the FPB and Farmers Bank will pull their business from you and you can see how it feels to struggle! Have more respect for the town that supports you please.

Hmmm, Farmers has been in business for 160 years. How about the State Urinal?

Except for local gossip, everything else in the SU is yesterdays Lexington Paper.

How dare you question the journalistic integrity of the State Journal who for over 10 years have misrepresented a zoning change of some 10.4 acres from "professional office" to "highway commerical" with FOUR lots which would create a safety hazard next to the interstate into a lovefest for Crackerbarrel? What would make you believe they had any intergrity to start with?

Yes, I agree. I thought both cartoon and article were a little harsh, particularly toward Farmers Bank. The article made it sound like the writer was trying to frighten people away from the bank. This is a banks that has advertized on this very site.
I do not have an account there, nor have I ever, but I do think it is dangerous to bite the hand that feeds; it's not like newspapers are the ascending industry anymore.
